V has been on my mind all fucking afternoon and evening. Hell she’s always on my mind, but it kinda feels even more so today. Ever since that damn kiss and all the shit she said to me.
You’re so fucking hot.
I imagine you’re amazing in bed.
I think about tracing the lines of your tattoos with my tongue.
Fuck. Me.
All the dirty thoughts that come from just hearing her say those words. If this girl doesn’t say yes to me asking her out soon, I feel like I’m gonna go insane. Today is the first time I’ve ever taken things further and kissed her and holy shit, it felt like I could’ve kissed her for days, years. For-fucking-ever. I didn’t even give a shit that we were in the bar or that my boss and his wife were there, along with a bunch of customers. All I could see was V.
I’ve asked her out nearly forty times already. Nearly forty rejections, but after that kiss, she doesn’t say no, she tells me to go big.
Go big, like she’s interested but she’s holding out for more?
Or go big so she can shoot me down again?
I’ve got no fucking clue, my brain is a mess when it comes to V. All I know is the longer I wait for her to say yes, the harder this whole thing gets. I am obsessed with this woman and how much I want her and at times it feels like her rejection only fuels that want and lust even more.
But I also know it’s more than that. That after today’s kiss, there is a whole lot more than me just being obsessed with her saying yes.
I check my phone again, wondering if V even got my message considering she hasn’t responded yet. I know she has a job and that being at the beck and call of all these celebrities means she can’t just drop whatever she’s doing and come help me out.
But fuck me do I want her to.
“So, you need my help because you stand around on your phone all night, is that it?”
A huge smile breaks out on my face as I turn around and find V standing behind the bar. She smirks at me and fuck me if it doesn’t light my whole body on fire.
“Well that and I just really wanted you here.”
V shakes her head, still smirking as she walks toward me, gives me a smack on the arse and whispers, “Of course you did,” before moving down to the other end of the bar to serve a customer.
Sliding my phone back into my pocket, I turn and do the same, the two of us now working side by side like we’ve done a million times before. It feels different tonight though. Maybe because I know Lewis isn’t around to give us shit or interrupt us. Maybe it’s because of the kiss we shared earlier. Or maybe it’s because for the first time since I started asking her, I get the sense that V is slowly warming up to the idea of actually saying yes.
Go big, Ed.
It’s the first answer other than no that I’ve ever gotten and while it’s not a yes, it’s no longer a no either.
“Hey, earth to Ed?”
I glance over at V. “Yeah?”
She laughs waving a hand at the now half empty room. “You wanna call last drinks or…?”
Fuck, where the hell has the night gone. It feels like only five minutes ago that V walked in here and now it’s already closing time. Which means V will be leaving soon and probably not with me.
“Sure,” I say with a grin, waving a towel around as I make the call. “But you’re staying back for a drink with me,” I add, before flicking the towel at her arse.
V and I serve the final round of drinks to our customers before we get started on the clean-up. It’s something I could do in my sleep at this point and it isn’t long before the last customer is walking out the door, followed by the other staff who were working tonight.
I close and bolt the door, hitting the switch on the outside lights as I flip the closed sign over and turn around to face V.
She’s standing behind the bar, her back to me as she reaches for a bottle of whisky.
“Whisky night, huh?” I call, pushing off the door as I make my way over and take a seat at one of the bar stools.
She turns, smiling as she puts two glasses on the wooden counter, drops an ice cube in each before pouring us both a generous shot of the amber liquid. “Every night is a whisky night, Ed.”
Chuckling, I circle my fingers around one of the glasses, lifting it to her as I tip my head at the stool beside me. V picks up the other glass, clinking it against mine before she moves from behind the bar, walking slowly around toward me and takes a seat.
We both take a sip, our eyes never leaving each other and I swear, it feels like this whole fucking place is about to go up in flames.
“So how’d your thing with Julia go today?”
V tips her head to the side, a surprised look on her face. “It was good, as always. She’s amazing.”
I take another sip of my drink. “What’s it like?” I ask. “Working with all these famous people?”
Victoria laughs now, her finger running in slow circles around the top of her glass. “It was weird at first,” she admits. “Being so close to people I’d only ever seen in movies and shit.”
“But?”
She lifts the glass, taking another sip, her eyes never leaving mine. “But I got over it pretty quick when I realized trying to put make-up on while fangirling was pretty much impossible.”
I let out a laugh. “Fuck, I can’t imagine you fangirling over anything, Victoria,” I say, giving her a wink. “You’re way too cool for that.”
Victoria snorts, finishing off her drink as she reaches for the bottle and pours us another. “Well obviously,” she says drily. “But it’s surprising how fucking surreal it is. I mean I still feel weird when Julia comes in and hangs out here and I’ve hung out with her the most. I mean shit, I’ve been to her house, multiple times.”
I turn on my stool, so I’m facing her, hooking my foot under the bottom rung of her stool and pulling her closer to me. V glances sideways at me, a brow raised and a sexy as fuck smirk on her face. I take a sip of my drink, swallowing slowly as I lower the glass back to the bar.
“So you never answered my question earlier.”
“Oh yeah,” she says, turning to face me. “Cause I’m pretty sure I told you to go bigger.”
Chuckling, I shake my head at her. “That’s not the question I meant,” I whisper, pulling her even closer now so she’s practically sitting between my legs.
Her eyes widen a little as she glances down as if to make a point about what I’ve done before she looks back up at me. “What was the question again?”
I lean forward and put my hands on her knees, slowly sliding them up her thighs as I move closer. “I asked,” I whisper, my gaze dropping to her mouth. “If you’d help with that stuff for Aiden?”
She pulls her bottom lip between her teeth and I swear to god, a fucking growl actually falls from my mouth. I am so close to her that all it would take is me leaning in and my lips would be on hers and fuck me, but that bottom lip would be between my teeth, not hers.
“V?” I whisper, my eyes still on her mouth.
She sucks her whole bottom lip into her mouth now before wetting it with her tongue as my jaw drops and I let out a heavy breath. Fuck, this woman drives me crazy.
“What are you thinking about right now, Ed?” she breathes out, her finger slipping beneath my chin as she tilts my face to hers.
I grin, chuckling a little as my hands squeeze her thighs. “Oh I think you know exactly what I’m thinking about.”
“Do I?” she asks playfully, her head tilting to the side.
“Uh huh,” I murmur.
V lets out a soft laugh. “Wanna enlighten me?” she asks, hitting me with a smirk that tells me she not only knows what I’m thinking, but what I want to do right now too.
“Fuck yes I do,” I breathe out before doing exactly that, closing the distance between us and kissing her.
V moans the second my lips touch hers, her tongue teasing my bottom lip even as I nip at hers. I can taste the whisky she’s been drinking and I swear that and the taste of her are already making me drunk. My hands slide off her thighs, moving down and gripping the side of the stool on either side of her arse, before pulling her closer, never breaking the kiss.
“Say yes, V,” I murmur into her mouth.
She smiles against me. “Didn’t I say go big?”
Chuckling, I nip her bottom lip again before sliding my tongue into her mouth, my legs on either side of her body. “Oh I’ll go big,” I eventually say, conceding that I know I need to do more than just ask this girl out. She’s bigger than that. Worth way more than that too. “But I’m talking about the thing with Aiden.”
She laughs, her hand suddenly grabbing the front of my shirt and pulling me toward her as she deepens the kiss in a way that stops both of us from talking.
And suddenly I don’t give a fuck about talking anymore as my hands move slowly up her body, curling around her back. I wanna pull her into my lap and kiss her hard as I carry her up the stairs to Lewis’ old flat. I don’t even give a shit that it’s not my place, I just need to be inside this woman.
Just as I’m about to say fuck it and do exactly that, my damn phone chimes out with a text. The noise sounds loud, even with the soft music playing in the bar, but it’s enough to have V pulling back, breaking the kiss.
“Come back here,” I murmur, my gaze finding hers.
She smiles, sexy as hell as she looks up at me. “You are one hell of a kisser, Ed,” she says, her voice husky and low.
With a wink, I reply, “I’ve got skills you wouldn’t believe, babe.”
Victoria bursts out laughing, her head falling back so her beautiful long neck is exposed to me. I can’t resist leaning in, my mouth against her skin.
“You wanna experience them for real?” I ask, licking and sucking her neck.
She lets out a soft moan, that only gets louder as I gently bite her. “Your skills?”
“My skills,” I reply with a laugh. “You know there’s a bedroom upstairs.”
Now it’s V laughing. “Your boss’ bedroom.”
“Like I fucking care,” I reply, biting her neck again.
V groans as she sways toward me, almost like she’s giving in to what we both know is between us. This isn’t just flirting or kisses, it’s fucking epic. Could be fucking epic if she just gave in and gave us a chance. If she just said yes.
I suck hard at her skin, knowing I’m probably leaving a mark, but not giving a single shit as I silently beg her to say yes to me. At this point I’d settle for yes to anything, as long as it’s a yes.
My phone chimes out with another text and once again, V pulls away from me, a frustrated groan falling from my mouth.
“Seems like someone wants to get hold of you,” she says, a cheeky grin on her face.
I glance down at her neck, see the mark I’ve left on her skin and smile. “Don’t be making excuses, V,” I say, pulling the phone from my pocket.
I glance down at the text message on my screen, shaking my head at the irony of who it’s from.
Aiden: Hey Ed, thanks so much for helping out with this, I really appreciate it! Sorry to text so late, we just got out of that premier. Anyway, I’m thinking tomorrow at 10 if that suits. Come by and we can go over things and then head out. Text me back whenever, I’ll be up for a while…your girl made my girl look amazing tonight 😉
I let out a laugh at the final part, knowing Julia doesn’t need V’s help to look good, but she would have somehow made it happen anyway.
The words Aiden use about V and me make me smile and when I look up at V, she’s staring at me, a tiny smile on her face too. I turn the phone toward her, not giving a shit that she’s going to see what he’s said about us.
“So, what do you say, V,” I ask, taking her hand in mine as I thread our fingers together and her eyes drop to the screen. “You free at ten tomorrow? Promise to make it worth your while.”
